Grand Banks Yachts is recognized for building some of the finest trawler style yachts on the market today. Grand Banks Yachts began its journey in 1956 as American Marine, ltd. Founder Robert J. Newton and his sons were running a custom boatyard on in Hong Kong, building heavy sailboats and large motor yachts. In 1962 they commissioned a well-known marine architect to design a 36 diesel powere4d cruising boat with humble, workman lines. From there the Grand Banks Heritage line was born.
